Publication Frequency

Basic and Clinical Cancer Reports (BCCR) follows a Quarterly publication model.

Articles are published online as soon as they have successfully completed the peer-review, editorial, production, and publication processes. This model allows accepted research to become available to the scientific community without unnecessary delays associated with waiting for a complete issue.

Peer Review Process

All research manuscripts submitted to BCCR undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine their relevance to the journal's scope, scientific quality, originality, ethical compliance, and adherence to submission requirements.

Manuscripts that meet the journal's initial requirements are sent for peer review by independent experts with relevant subject-matter expertise. The journal follows a rigorous peer-review process designed to evaluate the scientific validity, methodological quality, originality, clarity, and clinical or scientific significance of submitted work.

Depending on the nature of the manuscript, reviewers may evaluate aspects including study design, statistical methodology, data interpretation, ethical considerations, reporting quality, and the validity of the conclusions.

Editorial decisions may include acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection. Authors may be asked to respond to reviewers' comments and revise their manuscripts before a final editorial decision is made.

The final decision regarding publication rests with the Editor-in-Chief or designated members of the editorial team. Editors and reviewers are expected to maintain confidentiality and disclose or avoid potential conflicts of interest throughout the review process.

BCCR is committed to maintaining a fair, transparent, rigorous, and ethical peer-review process and to upholding high standards of research integrity and publication ethics.
